Hello and happy March! The weather is starting to get cooler around here, which I’m grateful for. Autumn and Spring are my favourite seasons 🙂 I re-designed my other website a while ago, and wanted to share it here, just ’cause I enjoyed it so much and am really happy with the final outcome!
So, my other website is houses my online shop where I sell printable paper goods, and also my other blog where I share free printables, clip art, fonts, etc. I started that blog on Blogger in 2011 and moved to WordPress.org a year later. I really wanted to start an online shop, and you can’t easily do that with Blogger.
That website was my first WordPress site and I just picked a free Wootheme and called it a day. At the time I didn’t have a lot of experience with WordPress, and didn’t know a lot about customising a theme. But in the process I have learned more about WordPress thanks to online tutorials and a book called Using WordPress by Tris Hussey. My Wootheme was a pain to customise (since it’s not really supposed to be changed a lot), and it just wasn’t ME. I wanted something simple and feminine.
I decided to use the Genesis Framework and a beautiful theme from Restored 316 to give my site a fresh new look. Check it out here and let me know what you think!
I’m also thinking about redesigning my logo. I’m really drawn to brush lettering these days, so I might go in that direction. Stay tuned!
